Privacy Policy
AllInNote (“we”, “us”) provides a free, browser-based note editor at allinnote.com. This policy explains what information is handled when you use the site. We designed the app so that your notes stay on your device.
The data controller for the website is the independent developer who operates allinnote.com, reachable at [email protected].
1. Your notes are not collected
The text you write in AllInNote is not transmitted to our servers and we cannot read it. Notes are handled by your browser and are stored in two places that you control:
- Your browser storage (localStorage), so your notes are still there when you return.
- The folder you choose on your own computer, using your browser's File System Access feature. Files are written directly from your browser to that folder.
Files you open with the app are read locally and are not uploaded.
2. Information stored in your browser
AllInNote stores the following in your browser. This data stays on your device and is not sent to us:
- Your notes and their settings (name, color, font, size, pinned state, order).
- Your light/dark mode choice.
- A reference (“handle”) to the folder you selected, kept in IndexedDB so the app can reconnect to it. It contains no file contents.
You can remove this data at any time by clearing site data for allinnote.com in your browser settings. Doing so deletes notes that exist only in browser storage; files already saved to your folder are not affected.
3. Browser permissions
- Folder access: used only to save and open the text files you choose. You can revoke it in your browser's site settings.
- Local fonts: if you allow it, the app reads the names of fonts installed on your computer to fill the font list. The list is used only on your device and is not transmitted.
4. Information collected automatically
Like most websites, the servers that deliver the site log basic technical information, such as IP address, browser type, requested page and time. The site is hosted on Cloudflare, which processes this data to deliver content, protect against abuse and operate its network. See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy. We also use Cloudflare Web Analytics, a privacy-focused service that measures page views, visits, countries, referrers, browser types and page performance. It does not use cookies or local storage to track you, does not fingerprint your device and does not build profiles of individual visitors across sites. See Cloudflare Web Analytics for details. We do not use other analytics services; if we add one, this policy will be updated.
5. Advertising (Google AdSense)
We use, or may in the future use, Google AdSense to show ads on allinnote.com. Ads appear in the areas beside the editor and never inside your notes. Please note:
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your previous visits to this website or other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
- You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ad Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising at www.aboutads.info.
- To learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services, see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services, and Google's advertising policies.
- Visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland are asked for consent for cookies and personalized ads through a consent message before such ads or cookies are used. You can change your choice later through the privacy settings link shown by that message, or in your browser settings.
We do not give advertisers access to your notes. Advertising partners collect information under their own privacy policies.
6. Cookies
AllInNote itself does not set tracking cookies. Cookies or similar identifiers may be set by Google and its partners when ads are shown, as described above. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the editor continues to work, though ads may be less relevant.
7. Children's privacy
AllInNote is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 where local law requires), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the site, contact us and we will help remove it.
8. Your rights
Because your notes never reach us, we generally hold no personal data about you beyond standard server logs handled by our hosting provider. Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or the California Consumer Privacy Act), you may have rights to access, correct, delete or object to the processing of personal data. To exercise them, email [email protected]. We do not sell personal information in exchange for money; advertising choices are managed through the Google controls described in section 5.
9. Security
The site is delivered over HTTPS. Because notes are stored on your device, their security also depends on your device and browser. Do not use a shared computer for sensitive notes without protecting your user account and folders.
10. Third-party links
Links in your notes or on our pages may lead to other websites. We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices.
11. Legal bases (EEA, UK and Switzerland)
Where the GDPR or similar laws apply, we process the limited technical data described in section 4 on the basis of our legitimate interest in delivering, securing and improving the site. Cookies and similar technologies used for personalized advertising are used only with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time. Notes you write are not processed by us at all.
12. International transfers
Our hosting provider and advertising partners operate globally, so technical data and advertising identifiers may be processed in countries other than your own, including the United States. These providers rely on recognized safeguards such as the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and standard contractual clauses.
13. Retention
We do not store your notes. Server logs kept by our hosting provider are retained only for the period the provider needs for security and operations. Data kept in your browser stays until you delete it.
14. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
AllInNote does not build profiles of visitors itself. Advertising partners may respond to browser signals such as Global Privacy Control according to their own policies.
15. U.S. state privacy rights
Residents of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Texas and other U.S. states with privacy laws may have the right to know, access, correct and delete personal information, and to opt out of the sale, sharing or targeted advertising use of personal information. We do not sell personal information for money. To opt out of personalized advertising, use Google Ad Settings or the privacy choices link shown by the consent message, or email us and we will assist.
16. Complaints
If you believe we have handled personal data unlawfully, you may complain to the data protection authority in your country. We would appreciate the chance to resolve your concern first, so please write to us.
17. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date above shows the latest revision. Continued use of the site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
